MySQL Reference Manual Now Available in French

PARIS, FRANCE - (July 1, 2003) - MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced a French-language version of the MySQL reference manual, which is now available online at the MySQL AB Web site at http://www.mysql.com/doc/fr/, and on the Nexen Web site, at http://dev.nexen.net/docs/mysql/index.php.

The MySQL reference manual is targeted at all MySQL users, such as developers of large Web sites and other mission-critical systems, as well as those who are embedding the high-performance MySQL database engine into other products. It provides information on everything from installation and basic SELECT syntax, to ACID transaction support, row-level locking, replication of servers to security, performance and optimization issues. The manual is searchable and has a table of contents on each page for easy navigation.

The MySQL reference manual was translated into French by MySQL partner NexenServices.com, a French Web hosting company that provides expert Web hosting with PHP and MySQL. NexenServices.com is also the editor of the popular Nexen.net Web site, which provides comprehensive technical information about the MySQL server and PHP scripting language.

An English-language hard-copy book titled, "The MySQL Reference Manual" is published and distributed by O'Reilly & Associates in the United States and is available through most major booksellers. A hard-copy German-language version of the MySQL reference manual is also available through German publisher MITP.

The French version of the MySQL reference manual is copyrighted by MySQL AB but is available for free browsing. The manual copyright protection does not allow printing or online hosting of the manual without an agreement with MySQL AB, but personal use of the information on the Web site is not limited.
